Join James Bourne, one half of the creative duo BAM!BAM! and the man behind the Museum of BAM!, for an informal artist talk taking us behind the scenes of the exhibition.

If you didn’t get a chance to chat with the him at the PV - or if you did, and the conversation only made you more curious about the world of BAM!BAM! – then this is the event for you!

Find out more about the origins of BAM!BAM!, how the collaboration began and how their distinctive mix of art, storytelling, local history and a healthy dose of invention has developed over the years.

James will share some of the backstories behind the objects, artefacts and curious pieces of Birmingham history found throughout the Museum of BAM!, as well as talking about the creative process of turning an idea into a fully formed fictional museum. Expect stories about research, collecting, making things up, finding connections and blurring the line between what is authentic and what could have been true.

The talk will also explore BAM!BAM!’s collaborations with other artists and creatives, and how different people and practices have become part of their ever-expanding world.

A chance to hear the stories that don’t quite fit on a museum label, ask questions and discover more about the ideas, people and creative processes behind the Museum of BAM!

And, perhaps, to work out which bits you can actually believe…
