'Down Out Up' Poetry Book Launch with Annie Colloby - June 14th 7-9 pm

Although a writer of poetry for many years, Annie first shared her words publicly in April 2024. Responding to an open submission from the Untamed X ORT Write Away challenge with a theme of ‘Regeneration’, her poem was selected and performed at The Old Rep Theatre in Birmingham.

She approached the Fruit & Nut Village CIO in the Autumn of 2024 with a Poet-in-Residence proposal which led to a wonderful partnership throughout 2025 culminating in the Poetry Collection ‘Down Out Up.’ Her poetry has been included in The Zephaniah Forest, Gallery Exhibitions in New York, London and Birmingham, published in The Madrid Review ‘Poems for the People of Palestine’, The Derwent Press Literary Magazine, the Dublin Literary Magazine Abyss and Coven a Zine for Poetry & Feminist Folklore.

She is currently working on Stories to Remember: Death and Memory in the Jewellery Quarter which will culminate in a new Anthology and Performance as part of Birmingham Heritage Week 2026 which runs from 11-20 September. Since July 2025 she has been an Invigilator at the Ikon Gallery in Brindley Place.
